Rhode Island is famous nationwide for its exceptional cuisine, and Newport is no small part of that status. From high end fine dining to quick stops, pubs, and delicious home style cooking, Newport is a foodie destination that ranks among the best. 

Downtown Newport was laid out in the 1600s, which means it wasn’t designed with cars in mind (although there is great access through the town). What this does mean, however, is that Newport is a great town for walking around the main drag.
